A Property's Value Is Measured by More Than Its Square Metres
When discussing real estate, we usually focus on location, layout, orientation, and price. Yet there is another factor that often receives far less attention— the quality of the urban environment..
Clean streets, well-maintained public spaces, reliable infrastructure, and a sense of safety are all essential components of quality of life. These factors shape not only people's everyday experience but also the perceived value and long-term attractiveness of every property.
The photographs accompanying this article were taken at the intersection of Slavyanska Street and 6th September Street, in the heart of Sofia. They illustrate that even in the city's most prestigious areas, there is still room for improvement.
As a real estate and investment consultant, I believe that the sustainable development of the property market should go hand in hand with the development of the urban environment. Attractive buildings and rising property prices alone are not enough if public spaces are not maintained with the same level of care and responsibility.

Investing in the urban environment is an investment in property values, investor confidence, and—most importantly—the quality of life of the people who live there.
